Chronicle context: pre-game primer and WoD glossary.

Harbingers of Skulls

Cappadocian survivors in the Sabbat—masked corpse-necromancers who returned from exile with a grudge against the Giovanni and a mastery of death no Camarilla prince wants named aloud.

The Harbingers claim descent from the Clan of Death before Augustus Giovanni's coup. Whether they are true Cappadocians, a masked offshoot, or something stranger, they speak of long exile in the Underworld and a vendetta that outlasted centuries. They joined the Sabbat for leverage, not ideology—and they wield Necromancy as effectively as any Giovanni, often more ruthlessly.

Members are almost always elders. They Embrace emaciated cadavers and wear skull masks in formal contexts; their true faces are as corpse-like as the worst Nosferatu. In-clan Disciplines: Auspex, Fortitude, Necromancy (primary path Mortis/Vitreous in Sabbat lore).

Harbingers of Skulls in Phoenix

Phoenix is Camarilla territory, which makes open Harbinger presence a problem by definition. Any Lazarene operating here does so with an agenda—usually Giovanni-related—and expects the city to be too distracted by its own fractures to notice until it is too late.

Current Situation

The Prince's murder left every necromancer-adjacent bloodline under suspicion. Giovanni in Phoenix are already paranoid; a Harbinger on local soil reads as invasion, not scholarship. Masks, aliases, and Sabbat distance are standard tradecraft.

Notable Tensions

Giovanni–Harbinger history is not abstract in this chronicle. Necromantic research at grief-soaked sites—boarding schools, hospitals, old foundations—can read as territorial warfare to anyone feeding on the same dead.

Wear the Mask

The Harbingers do not come to Elysium to be admired. They come to finish what the Giovanni started—and survive the telling.

Note: Elder bloodline; Storyteller approval required. Default sect: Sabbat.
